French performance blood
Elasticity, power and a willingness to perform, combined with a flawless character and modern beauty are the characteristics that predestine this athletic stallion for the top-class sport. Born and reared in famous Haras de Levallois in France, Noowanda Semilly’s career began early, when he became Champion de France A.N.S.F as a two-year-old. As a four- to six-year-old he was a three-time finalist at the French championships for young horses in Fontainebleau. Sold to Switzerland, he managed to achieve placings in the Youngster Tour as well as international 1.40 m show jumping with Jan Chrzanowski. When he changed to the young rider Melanie Freimüller, the pair could shine with top-level placings at the CSI Ascona, in Basel and Zurich, among others. With Noowanda Semilly having moved to Gestüt Grenzland as a sire, the focus is now going to be exclusively on breeding.
Sire: Noowanda Semilly’s pedigree is packed with performance genes. The sire, Diamant de Semilly, won team gold at the World Equestrian Games in Jerez and team silver at the European championships one year later. Systematically bred for performance, he was multiple “Best Sire of Young Horses” at the French championships in Fontainebleau and produced huge numbers of international top horses. Among his conspicuous sons in Germany are Diarado and Dicapo, who both won their respective licensing. Grandsire Le Tot de Semilly was also internationally successful and is regarded one of the best show jumping sires of France, with numerous international top-class offspring such as Itot du Château.
Dam: Fidji de Semilly goes back to the dam line of Cape de Fresne by the thoroughbred Rantzau xx, a half-sister of the legendary Cor de la Bryère. Apart from Noowanda Semilly, she also produced his full sister PSS Uganda de Semilly, who successfully competes internationally with Victoria and Guido Klatte, and the 3/4 brother Kirios de Semilly, who competes internationally for Spain. Fidji de Semilly’s half-sister Tati du Palis produced 6 licensed stallions and several internationally successful jumping horses; Jaffna de Semilly, Hussah T.M. The dam's sire, Quidam de Revel, team bronze winner at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, set breeding standards like hardly any other horse: ten offspring by Quidam de Revel participated in the 2002 world championships, including the later team gold winner Tlaloc M.
