Carambo van de Helle descends from the Holstein line 18 A2 and is a noble and strong stallion type of a sports horse with an expressive head and an excellent top line. As a foal he was sold to one of the biggest studs in Belgium. There, he attracted great attention at the jumping series for 4-year-old horses by jumping 9 out of 10 courses clear. The will to perform, rideability and unlimited scope equipped with excellent basic gaits and a great personality are the characteristics of Carambo van de Helle by which he also convinced the Belgian licensing committee. After a short career in breeding, Carambo van de Helle was sold to France where he was used in sports only. He competed successfully in show jumping up to S*** classes.

Sire: Carolus I, one of the most important sons of the stallion of the century Capitol I, started his breeding career as association stallion in Holstein before he came to Baden-Württemberg. There he was ridden by Stefan Lauber (SUI) and later by Hans-Peter Konle (GER) with whom he achieved international winnings and placings. In 1995 and 1996, a great lot of Carolus I offspring represented him at the Federal Championships. His progeny have collected a lifetime prize money of almost 1,5 million Euros. So far, 14 of his sons have been licensed in Germany. The most famous and most successful Carolus I son in sports is Clinton I, who was many times internationally highly successful under Thomas Voss. With 8 licensed sons and a breeding value of 150 in jumping, he, like his sire, belongs also in breeding to the leading Holstein stallions nationwide.
Dam: The Calypso II daughter Tamara had 11 foals. 3 Of the 4 stallions she had were licensed, among them Linaro by Landgraf. He was the indisputable winner of the stallion selection in 1991 and also of the stallion performance test one year later. He has produced 8 licensed stallions to date. His full sister is competing successfully in dressage up to Grand Prix level. State premium mare Fiona VI, full sister of Carambo van de Helle, produced 2 licensed halfbred, Conley and Pasco. Damsire Calypso II wrote breeding history in Holstein as well as in Hanover. He was a great sports horse and passed on his excellent jumping ability to his progeny. Through his granddam, Carambo van de Helle traces back directly to the 2 most influential thoroughbreds that were used as refiners of the breed after the 2nd World War, Ladykiller xx and Cottage Son xx.

Breeder: Gerda Bertram, D- Westerau
Owner: Martina Hingis, CH- Hurden

Approved for: Cheval Suisse, SBS, ZVCH (EDB)

Stud Fee: Euro 200 and Euro 400, if the mare is certified in foal by October 1st

Carambo van de Helle was used exclusively as a sports horse already at an early age and has therefore only a few offspring in Belgium. They are beautiful looking and have, just like their sire, an excellent top line. They present themselves impressively with an almost perfect sequence at the jump.
