Arioso du Theillet
Europe’s sire no. 1 of top show jumping horses
Elite sire Arioso du Theillet is a modern, internationally successful sports stallion that carries excellent performance blood. His fighter’s heart and outstanding scope, supported by a good uphill gallop, which is developed by an energetic drive from behind, made him the most easy-to-ride sports and breeding stallion in France.
Some of his exceptional achievements are an individual and a team bronze medal at the Junior European Championship with Christina Liebherr (SUI), as well as, along with numerous wins and high placings, the 2nd place at the Grand Prix in Zürich under Susanne Behring (GER).
Despite his little breeding activities when he was younger, this stallion has aroused great interest to the breeders: Because of his progeny winnings, Arioso du Theillet belongs to the top jumping sires within Europe.
Sire: Persan II was sired by the French stallion of the century Grand Veneur. He was classified as one of his best progeny. Unfortunatelly, he was available for breeding only limited, after an accident at the age of 6. His dam sire Starter is the unforgettable son of the thoroughbred Rantzau xx. Starter provided stallions and sports horses that deserve greatest recognition, in France as well as far beyond the national border. One of Starter’s most famous half-brothers was the legendary stallion Cor de la Bryère, who influenced essentially the Holstein breed.
Dam: Quairelle’s sire was one of the most important French breeding and sports stallions. I Love You traces back to the bloodline founder Ibrahim and Almé, just as his well-known half-brother Jalisco B. His grand dam Maharanée was sired by the unforgettable thoroughbred Night and Day xx, who was also grand sire of the double Olympic winner Jus de Pommes ridden by Ulli Kirchhoff (GER).

Arioso du Theillet had 26 progeny registered in France, before he continued his sports career in Switzerland. Among his offspring that have shown international potential in sports, is Idéo du Thot, ridden by Beat Mändli (SUI). In 2006, they were 3rd at the Wold Cup Finals and won the World Cup Finals in 2007. The stallion Keops du Vinnebus was winner at the French foal Championship, vice-champion of the 2-year-old, winner of the 3-year-old, 4th at the show jumping championship in Fontainebleau and received the award for best 4-year-old horse of the year 2002 in Paris. Today he performs at the highest level in show jumping and is available for breeding. Arioso du Theillet’s sons King d’Alventot and Karioso Manciais as well are competing successfully at Grand Prix level. The first crops of foals after his comeback in the breeding business in 2006 have met all expectations. The breeders that have used him throughout Europe have not been disappointed. His offspring were long-legged, with noble facial expressions and energetic movements. They drew a lot of attention at international Foal Championships, where they were awarded premium and got excellent placings. His first approved son, Tenor d’Arioso, who is also standing at our stud, shows enormous ability and an excellent overview at the jump.
